Kitchen cleaning : Containers

Stained containers
Have you found stains in your Tupperware or in your other plastic containers? You can work these stains out by soaking them overnight with hot soapy water with a quarter cup of vinegar added. The vinegar will neutralize the stain.

Odors
If you have odors in your plastic containers you can get rid of them fast by wiping the inside of the bowl with vinegar to neutralize the odors. Don’t forget to wash the bowl with soapy water to get the taste of the vinegar out!

Another way of dealing with lingering odors in your plastic containers is to use baking soda and water. Make a paste to smear the inside of the container, let it sit for about an hour and wash as you normally would for a real clean smell. Yet another way of dealing with odors in your plastic containers is by rubbing a cut lemon on the interior of the container, let it sit for an hour and then wash as you normally would for a great lemon fresh clean.

Lunchboxes
To kill mold or mildew smells in your lunch box or in your breadbox you can wipe out with full strength vinegar or ammonia for a clean that neutralizes that smell. If you have the time you could place a cup or bowl of full strength vinegar inside and close the door over night and the vinegar will absorb the odors as well. The same can be achieved by sprinkling baking soda inside overnight to absorb the odors.
