Furniture : Scratches

►If you find a scratch on your wooden chair or table there are great scratch covers that you can make yourself to repair this unsightly mark. Using one half teaspoon of olive oil, soak a tea bag in the oil. As the tea bag releases the color into to oil add additional tea bags as needed to create the color that you are searching for. This will be a dark colored stain that should not be used on lighter colored wood.

►If you have deep scratches in your wood; you can color the wood with the meat part of a walnut. You may have to do this a few times to get the cover that you prefer.

►To hide small scratches use a teaspoon of mayonnaise and rub hard on the scratched area. This will blend the color of the wood into the scratched area.

►Do you have a jug of tea in the fridge? You can wet your soft cloth with some tea and dust your hardwood furniture to add a little color to your shine!

►To cover wood scratches in your chairs or in your other wood furniture you can use a half a cup of vinegar with a half a cup of iodine. Mixing these two liquids together dab a little bit on the scratched surface. If you are trying to cover a scratch in a darker wood use more iodine and if you are repairing a wood surface with a lighter color use more vinegar in the mixture.

►Do you have a juice or drink stain on your wood furniture? You can get stains out of your wood furniture by using mineral spirits for a deep clean. After you rub the area with a soft cloth and mineral spirits clean the area with full strength vinegar. Polish as needed for a great clean and shine.

►Is the wax building up on your furniture getting to be a lot of wax that is looking dirty? Your can remove the polish build up by using a half cup of vinegar and a half cup of water. Rubbing your wood furniture with a wet cloth and then drying with a soft cloth will leave your wood with a clean shine.
